Murkowski or Collins probably have more in common with the conservative left than the Trump MAGA-voters. Flake, Corker and McCain all hate Trump and are leaving the Senate. If two of those five could be persuaded to join the Dems through the mid-terms, we’d have the chamber and could stop any Trump judicial nominations.
Murkowski is up for re-election so doing so might be hard for her (or maybe not in purple Alaska?). Collins is up in two years. But the Dems could dangle high-profile chairs and promise not to assist anyone running against them for the Democratic nominations going forward.
